BIO
Daniel Tovar is an artist and educator based in Los Angeles. His installations, which combine video, sculpture, field recordings and synthesizers, explore the concept of the natural and humans’ relationship to it. He holds a PhD in philosophy from Northwestern University and a BA from UC Berkeley. He currently teaches philosophy at SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture), and previously taught in the liberal arts department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His sculpture and video work has been exhibited at galleries including Monte Vista Projects and Wonzimer, and performed at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Coaxial, Materials & Applications, and Experimental Sound Studio, among other venues.
